Pics and Chatter from a Great Weekend of Salmon Fishing

The first salmon over 30 pounds (a 34 pounder!) was caught this weekend off Pillar Point, as anglers in Half Moon Bay enjoyed the hottest salmon bite in over 5 years.

Boats out of Monterey continue to report great fishing, although none were over 21 pounds.

RodMobber Mitchell G. went out on Randy's Sport Fishing charters' Chubasco on Friday, and reported boat limit for 36 people off Davenport by 2:30 and 72 10 - 14 lb fish. Mitchell reported: all very nice fish clean and healthy, looking for a great fall run of large fish headed into the Delta to spawn.

Limits on the Chubasco

We also got a great report from RodMobber Tony V. who was out fishing Bodega Bay on the Reel-Lentless on Sunday. Tony said the weather was foggy, a bit chilly, rollers keeping you on your guard, but good fishing - and everyone got limits of crab also.
